About the event

Join us as we work with the Grasslands Conservation Council of BC to identify invasive plants in the park and learn how to remove them without spreading seeds!

Our goal is to reduce the presence of invasives in one area of the park, and monitor to see how native grasses and plants repopulate the area.

Friends of Black Mountain is a non-profit group of volunteers, dedicated to promoting the responsible discovery, enjoyment and conservation of the Black Mountain - sntsk'il'ntən Regional Park, owned by the people of the Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) and co-managed by the RDCO and the Westbank First Nation.

Mar 1 to May 31 - 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Jun 1 to Aug 31 - 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Sept 1 to Oct 14 - 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Oct 15 to Dec 31 - 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Winter: Reduced maintenance of parking areas and facilities from November to March.
