Please join us at our Annual General Meeting on March 10th at the Robert Hobson Environmental Education Center!


We are so excited to welcome guest speaker Don Gayton for our Annual General Meeting. Join us for the presentation, and stay for snacks and updates about the park!


Don will join us to share his knowledge of fire regimes in our forested ecosystems, discuss grasslands and invasives, ecological connectivity, and virtual fencing solutions.


Don Gayton is a consulting ecologist and nature writer, based in Summerland. He has a lifelong interest in grasslands and dry forests. Gayton’s technical publications include Basic Concepts in Ecological Restoration, and BC Grasslands: Monitoring Vegetation Change. His popular publications include award-winning books of non-fiction: The Wheatgrass Mechanism, Man Facing West, and Landscapes of the Interior, Okanagan Odyssey and his most recent book, The Sky and the Patio: An Ecology of Home. Friends of Black Mountain is a non-profit group of volunteers, dedicated to promoting the responsible discovery, enjoyment and conservation of the Black Mountain - sntsk'il'ntən Regional Park, owned by the people of the Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) and co-managed by the RDCO and the Westbank First Nation.

Sept 1 to Oct 14 - 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Oct 15 to Dec 31 - 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Winter: Reduced maintenance of parking areas and facilities from November to March.
